With recent news of an appearance by Darth Vader, more insight into the film’s style, and a batch of images, the anticipation for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to rise. Today, a new featurette for the Star Wars spin-off — following a group of rebels with a secret plan to destroy the Death Star — has been released during Star Wars Celebration and is now available online. There’s the sense, as usual, that this thing is big and perhaps more than just another way to keep the name Star Wars on the mind (akin to a standalone Marvel film between Avengers) until the next massive “saga” installment.
With what looks to be sweeping cinematography akin to the main installments combined with Gareth Edwards‘ more handheld style utilized in Monsters and Godzilla, Rogue One looks to have a unique feel once compared to its big brother. With a cast led by Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelson, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris, and now James Earl Jones, check out the new featurette and poster below, along with the live-stream.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16th.
