While speaking with the Los Angeles Times graphic novelist Frank Miller gave an update on the 300 follow-up. The film would take place 10 years before Zack Snyder‘s smash hit and would be called Xerxes. According to Miller, Snyder has expressed interest in the film adaptation. Miller said, “It’s the battle of Marathon through my lens. I’ve finished the plot and I’m getting started on the artwork.” While talking about the Hollywood’s interest in Greece, Millar exclaimed, “Every generation returns to ancient Greece because, well, the stories are so damn good. The fact and the myth are inseparable and, believe me, when you go sailing for a while in the Aegean Sea, you start believing in Poseidon.”
i personally don’t want to see another story in the vein of 300. The film has gotten quite stale and would much rather see everyone involved work on different projects. If those projects are like The Spirit, then I suppose this isn’t the worst things that could happen. If Miller can get a better story down, I’d be more interested.
