Shock Till You Drop is reporting that Sony has decided to move forward with a 4th installment to the Underworld Franchise. They are hoping for a January 2011 release and will be shooting the film in 3-D. The status of franchise stars Michael Sheen, Bill Nye, Rhona Mitra, Kate Beckinsale, directors Len Wiseman and Patrick Tatopoulos are currently unknown.
I was never a fan of any of the Underworld films. I think they are really poor, so news of a fourth really has no bearing on me. The only thing that may push it to an interesting level is the 3-D factor which seems to be the direction horror movies are going these days. Hopefully, original director Len Wiseman and star Kate Beckinsale will return.
