1,500. That’s around the number of photos director Lee Unkrich will post when all is said and done. The Oscar-winning Toy Story 3 helmer announced (via Twitter) he has decided on his next Pixar project, one that will take up the next four years of his life. Unfortunately everyone outside their Emeryville, California headquarters have absolutely zero idea what the film could be about.
In an effort to chronicle the entire timeline of the project, Unkrich has launched a Tumblr where he will post a single picture every single day until release. Check out the first image titled “the starting line” below and click to follow.
From this picture, it looks like he is still in the script stage. As for other Pixar projects, Brave hits on June 22nd, 2012, followed by their Monsters Inc. prequel, Monsters University, on June 21st, 2013. Up co-director Bob Peterson will release his Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs on November 27th, 2013 and the other Up director Peter Docter is planning a May 30th, 2014 for his ambitious film that goes “inside the human mind.” Find out more details about the two latter projects here while we stay tuned on new updates from Lee Unkrich, day by day.
