While much attention surrounding the drama We Gotta Get Out of This Place had to do with its gorgeous poster (seen below), it looks like we’ll actually get to see the project fairly soon. While a U.S. date hasn’t been set, the crime drama from Zeke and Simon Hawkins is getting an international release this summer and the first trailer has landed.

Following three teens who are forced to pull off a heist for a brutal local cotton farmer, we were mostly fans of out of Toronto International Film Festival, saying in our review, “A taut thriller with assured performances from its central core, the film eventually finds itself exactly where logic would expect it to be.” Check out the trailer and poster below for the film starring Mackenzie Davis, Logan Huffman, Jeremy Allen White, Jon Gries, William Devane, and Mark Pellegrino.

Synopsis:

With only three weeks left until his two best friends leave for college, Billy Joe robs his cotton farmer boss, Giff, in order to pay for one last blow-out weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas. Arriving home from the weekend, the teens find the consequences of Billy Joe’s actions brutal. Now Billy Joe, Bobby, and Sue will be taken on a ride that will test love, heartbreak, trust, and crossing that permanent line from adolescence into adulthood.

We Gotta Get Out of This Place will be released in the U.S. by Starz Digital Media.
