Over the years, we have seen many documentaries on the topic of child molestation, but soon we’ll have the first one to extensively address this problem in Hollywood. Amy Berg’s controversial new documentary, An Open Secret, will be released next month and today brings the first trailer. Ever since premiering at DOC NYC last November, there has been much talk surrounding the film, including its credibility.
Michael Egan, one of main accusers followed, was found guilty of investment fraud and made various legal claims against executives and Bryan Singer that he later withdrew. However, Berg, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2007 for her documentary, Deliver Us from Evil, has received a great deal of praise, so we’re looking forward to seeing what is revealed. An Open Secret is scheduled for a release on June 5th.
