NBC Universal has released a high-res photo of the Hogwarts Express from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at the Universal Studios Island of Adventure in Orlando, Florida.
The photo which can be seen below comes with the following description:
“The Hogwarts Express arrives at Hogsmeade Station as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter continues to develop at Universal Orlando Resort. As guests enter Hogsmeade, they will be greeted by the iconic, smoke-billowing steam engine, made famous in the Harry Potter books and films for transporting students to a world of magic and wonder. Opening in Spring 2010 only at Universal Orlando Resort, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will feature multiple themed attractions, shops and a restaurant.” (Mugglenet)
The theme park is to house three main attractions, along with minor rides, stores and sites. The first is called The Dragon Challenge, which features a twin high-speed roller coaster with many iconic elements from the fourth Potter film, Triwizard Tournament. The second is The Flight of the Hippogriff, a family coaster simulating a Hippogriff training flight over the grounds of Hogwarts castle. Finally, the third and largest attraction is within Hogwarts Castle called Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Promising to be a thrilling new state-of-the-art attraction that uses entirely new technology to bring the magic, characters and stories of Harry Potter to life in ways never before experienced.
Emma Watson revealed a few months ago that she and her fellow castmates have filmed something that will be shown during an interactive ride, likely to be in the third attraction.
With this theme park being years in the making, its opening this Spring is looking to match the hype and attention of a Potter film premiere, with everybody from the actors and crew members of the films to be in attendance.
