It seems as though 2013 will be the year of magician movies, as we already saw the trailer for one with a heist twist, Now You See Me. Today we’ve got our look at a heavily comedic version, with the first images from the Warner Bros. spring release The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Directed by frequent 30 Rock helmer Don Scardino, the film comes from a screenplay by the Horrible Bosses duo Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley and has quite a cast, including Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, James Gandolfini, Jim Carrey, Jay Mohr and Michael Bully Herbig.

With the first trailer set to debut this week, USA Today has our first look below at a mullet-laden Carell as our lead character, along with his sidekick, played by Buscemi. One can also see his competition above, a long-haired Carrey next to Arkin and Mohr. While Scardino is an accomplished TV director, hopefully he can transfer to big-screen comedy flawlessly, and with the help of funny duo of Goldstein and Daley, not to mention this cast, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Synopsis:

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone opens on March 15th.
