While his Red Hook Summer continues to have a divisive response in limited release, Spike Lee can be confident that just about everyone can at least appreciate the subject of his next film, the documentary Bad 25. Chronicling the making of the aforementioned album of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, the project features interviews from Martin Scorsese, director of the Bad music video, as well with tons of other crew members, and even outsiders like Kanye West, Questlove, Sheryl Crow, Cee Lo Green and Mariah Carey. After access to Jackson’s vault, Lee should be able to create something with a bit more depth than the concert doc This Is It. With a premiere set for TIFF, check out photos of some of the previously mentioned interviewees above and below, as well as a clip featuring The Way You Make Me Feel director Joe Pykta.
TIFF kicks off on September 6th and the film will air on ABC this Thanksgiving.
