If Dick Van Dyke doing the penguin dance in Mary Poppins taught us anything (and I mean anything) it was that these black and white birds can be ridiculously cute. New photos from the set of Mr Popper’s Penguins suggest that the movie will be cashing in on that stereotype, big time.
The story revolves around Mr Popper (played by Jim Carrey) who manages to get lumbered with six penguins that need his tender loving care, despite him being a professional business man who pretends emotions such as those are beneath him. Can you see where this is going?
The pics, courtesy of Splash, show Carrey in full character, having a jolly old lark, but it’s hard to tell whether the accompanying pengys are real, CGI, or just plain fake. What do you think?
