After taking it easy with no films hitting theaters in this year, Harrison Ford is set for a major 2013, with the baseball drama 42, the sci-fi blockbuster Ender’s Game, as well as the thriller Paranoia. We’ve got the first official look at the last film today, which sees our star almost completly bald in what is certainly 21 director Robert Luketic‘s most promising film yet. USA Today has the stills, which also feature Gary Oldman and Liam Hemsworth as other players in a cat and mouse game of corporate espionage. Also rounding out the cast is Amber Heard, Josh Holloway, Lucas Till, Richard Dreyfuss and Embeth Davidtz.
We’ve also got another first look this morning, for a film that just began production this week. Below, via FilmoFilia, one can see Jude Law and co-star Richard E. Grant in the next project from Richard Shepard, who gave us the underrated comedy The Matador. The revenge-fueled black comedy Dom Hemingway follows Law as a safe cracker, described as “funny, profane, dangerous,” and short-tempered. After finishing up a twelve-year prison sentence and being put back into society, the man takes it upon himself to “collect what he’s owed for keeping his mouth shut.” The ensemble cast also includes Emilia Clarke, Demian Bichir, Jumayn Hunter and Madalina Ghenea, and one can check out the photos above and below.
In this high-stakes thriller, Adam Cassidy (Liam Hemsworth) is an ambitious junior technologist trying to climb the ranks of telecom giant Wyatt Corporation. But after one costly mistake, Adam is blackmailed by ruthless CEO Nicholas Wyatt (Gary Oldman) to turn corporate spy by going to work for the firm’s top competitor, which is run by Wyatt’s old mentor, Jock Goddard (Harrison Ford). Adam soon finds himself delivered into prepackaged success, living his fantasy life of old-world boardrooms, private clubs, exotic cars, and all the spoils of Manhattan bachelorhood. However, behind the scenes, he is merely a pawn in Wyatt’s power play, and must search for a way out from under his boss, who will stop at nothing, even murder, to gain a multi-billion dollar advantage.
Paranoia arrives on October 4th, 2013, while Dom Hemingway will likely land on the festival circuit beforehand.
