While David Fincher brought The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to US audiences, we’ve been idly waiting for the next feature from the director of the Swedish version, Niels Arden Oplev. His star Noomi Rapace exploded, especially with her upcoming role in Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus, but it’s taken a bit longer for Oplev’s next feature to come together.
We’ve got proof it’s well on its way though, as set photos have arrived from the shoot of Oplev’s Dead Man Down in Philadelphia. JustJared have our first look at the film’s main star, a rugged Colin Farrell, who is taking aim atop a building with a fairly large gun, while Dominic Cooper is below in the saggiest state we’ve ever seen him in.
Written by J.H. Wyman, Dead Man Down sees Farrell play Victor, a former criminal aide who seeks vengeance on Alphonse Hoyt (Terrence Howard) a criminal overlord who helped orchestrate the death of his family. Rapace, who re-teams with the director, enters the swing of things as Beatrice, a woman blackmailing Victor for his services; Cooper will play Victor’s partner, Darcy. Isabelle Huppert (The Piano Teacher, White Material) has also recently joined the cast. Check out some of the photos below and rest at the source.
Expect a 2013 release for Dead Man Down.
