For his follow-up to the disappointing Taking Woodstock, director Ang Lee has been hard at work on his adaptation of Life of Pi. With a release date set for this fall, we’re finally starting to get a peek of the film, as Fox is placing uncut scenes for the 3D adventure film before many of its major movies, including last week’s Prometheus. Unfortunately those aren’t likely to pop up online in their entirety, but today we’ve got our first look at footage.
Running just over ten seconds, we get an early glimpse the tale of Pi, a young boy who is the only survivor of a freighter wreckage. After surviving the tragedy, he finds himself having to survive life at sea on a lifeboat with limited supplies, a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a bengal tiger. Found on the official website, the 10-second clip shows off what looks to be their first encounter. Check it out below, along with some banners and head over to the site for a piece of the score.
Based off a script by David Magee, Life of Pi stars Suraj Sharma, Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Khan, Gerard Depardieu, Shravanthi Sainath,Tabu, and Adil Hussain. It will hit theaters November 21, 2012.
