Following a Sundance premiere, the Ashton Kutcher-led Steve Jobs biopic will be arriving in theaters around seven months later and just ahead of its bow next week, we’ve got word that one of its stars has lined up another major biopic role. According to Deadline, Josh Gad, who portrays Steve Wozniak in the upcoming film, will pair with Borat director Larry Charles for a feature film on late comedian Sam Kinison.
Scripted by Rich Wilkes (xXx) and coming from Bill Kinison‘s book Brother Sam, producer David Permut said, “there was nothing conventional about Sam Kinison and neither will be the cinematic interpretation of his life. Larry Charles is the perfect director to bring Rich Wilkes’ incredible script to screen, and Josh Gad’s tremendous ability to morph into a role will bring great depth to Kinison’s larger than life persona.”
Following the subject’s 80’s transition from Pentecostal preaching into Hollywood stand-up comedy, there’s no word yet on when production will begin, but stay tuned. In the meantime, check out a final trailer for Jobs, as well as a batch of clips and behind-the-scenes footage.
Do the final trailer and clips sell you on the film if you weren’t planning on seeing it? Are you looking forward to the Kinison biopic?
