Irish actor Colin Farrell has signed on to costar with Anton Yelchin in Dreamworks upcoming Fright Night remake. Farrell is going to take over the role Chris Sarandon originated as the suspected vampire terrorizing the neighborhood. Yelchin is set to play the young protagonist that discovers his secret and tries to warn the neighborhood.

Toni Collette will play Yelchin’s mother who falls for the hypnotic charms of Farrell and refuses to believe her son’s warnings.

Fright Night is being produced by Disney for the Dreamworks imprint. Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespie, who works with Collette on the TV series The United States of Tara, will be at the helm on the horror comedy.
