F. Gary Gray has emerged as the likely contender to helm the new Kane and Lynch film. There is no official announcement yet, but apparently Gray is currently in talks with the studio. Expect an official announcement in the near future. [Heat Vision Blog]
The studio was previously considering both Wayne Kramer (Crossing Over, Running Scared) and Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job), but apparently Gray is the first choice. Gray is a talented director with some worthy credits in his filmography including the thrilling Law Abiding Citizen and the equally thrilling The Italian Job.
Personally I have no problem with this call. I think it’s a good choice and I’d like to see Foxx and Gray back together again after the very enjoyable Law Abiding Citizen.
The film is based on the video game of the same name, which I’ve played and enjoy. It feels like worthy source material to combat the lingering video game-to-film curse, which has most recently plagued Prince of Persia.
Are you guys fans of Gray? Do you think he’s the right man for the role?
