You read right. The plan is apparently for two more season’s of the hit HBO show and then a film to cap it all off. All of this from the mouth of the show’s creator and producer, Marky Mark Wahlberg, at The Lovely Bones premiere this week. After revealing there would be two more seasons, Wahlberg was asked, naturally, what would happen then: ““We’ll see, there could be more. But then, a movie.” [THR]
All in all, it’s not the most surprising news but certainly interesting in terms of timing. It’s so early on (two short seasons of Entourage usually are spaced out to the point of annoyance) that this all could change like that.
That being said, an Entourage movie does get the creative juices flowing for this writer (the boys lose all their money, move back to NYC, Ari does finally become a studio head, and on and on). But really, what could a show that relies so heavily on repetition and face value (i.e.e celebrity cameos, beautiful girls and celebrity cameos, beautiful girls) do differently with a feature-length plot line. If they’re smart (and not particularly creative) they’ll go the Sex and the City route and make a long, long episode that appeases the fans and makes lots and lots of money.
What do you think of this news? Do you like Entourage?
