The A+ studio that brought such classics as 12 Rounds, The Condemned, The Marine, and See No Evil are at again. WWE Films are trying their hand at a family drama titled Big Red and have hired the one and only Ed Harris to star in the film along side Amy Madigan. As is usual practice for all WWE Films productions, the wrestler cross this time will be Randy Orton. The plot of the film according to Variety is as follows:

Set during the mid-1960s, about a bright 12-year-old boy whose English teacher (Harris) pairs him up on a project with the school’s biggest outcast and social pariah, Stanley (“Big Red”). When Andy watches Stanley fearlessly confront a school bully, a series of events is unleashed that changes the lives of the boys and their teacher.

Madigan will play the school’s principal, while Orton portrays the father of the bully who campaigns to get the teacher fired.

The rest of the cast includes Chase Ellison, Daniel Roebuck, Molly Parker, and Mia Rose Frampton. Executive President of WWE Films, Mike Pavone will direct the film as well as co-produce with Denise Chamian.

For those thinking that WWE Films casting a good actor in Harris is a sign of hope, I would like to remind you that Robert Patrick was in The Marine.

Any thoughts on Big Red? Have you enjoyed any WWE films?
