The last two weekends the number one spot was too close to call, but this time Dreamworks’ How To Train Your Dragon is the definitive winner. The animated adventure is the 2nd highest grossing film of the year, adding another $15M, bringing its total to $178M.

The weekend debuts all underperformed. The Back-Up Plan, while making more than the entire gross of the last CBS film, Extraordinary Measures, still didn’t live up to expectations with a $12.25M opening.

The Losers came in fourth with only $9.6M and Kick-Ass was just behind with $9.5, bringing its total to $34.87M.

Oceans had a nice per theater average of $4,975 but came in 8th place with $6M. Avatar, even though it was released on DVD/Blu-ray this week made nearly $1M, overtaking Ben-Hur on the adjusted domestic film chart. It is now less than $800,000 from taking over Empire Strikes Back. Check out the full Top 10 below.
