Here is an absolute must-see trailer. The trailer is for super secret sci-fi film District 9 directed by Neil Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson. Check it out after the jump in HD:

The film is based off a short by Blomkamp, Alive in Joburg. It depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa. Wikus (Sharlto Copley) is a Multi-National United agent who becomes infected by alien biotechnology. He must go on the run from the oppressive government into District 9, a internment camp where “non-humans” have been forced to live since landing on Earth nearly 30 years ago.

The trailer reminds of Cloverfield, one of my favorite films of last year. I can’t wait. Love the style and the realistic tone. After the trailer, this just shot up to one of my most anticipated films of 2009.
