Variety is reporting that actor Denzel Washington (The Taking of Pelham 123) is dropping out of Tony Scott’s (The Taking of Pelham 123) runaway train movie Unstoppable.
After the poor box office take of Pelham 123, Fox asked the star to drop his $20 million quote down $4 million. Washington decided against it.
He was set to play “a veteran engineer who jumps into a locomotive with a young conductor (Star Trek’s Chris Pine) to halt an unmanned runaway train filled with a toxic chemical.”
There still exists the possibly of Fox returning to the table with a new offer. There is also a chance of the expensive Scott dropping out, which could allow more money for Washington.
