We got word back in January that Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Anton Yelchin along with Peter Sarsgaard were set to star in Naomi Foner‘s upcoming project, and now Deadline reports that Demi Moore has joined the cast of Very Good Girls.
Fanning and Olsen are set to play “lifelong best friends in the summer after their high school graduation, both determined to lose their virginity as a rite of passage into the adult world.” As a twist of faith, both girls fall in love with the same boy — lucky Yelchin — and their relationship is tested. As you may have guessed by the age difference, Moore will be playing the role of Olsen‘s mother.
It’s pretty obvious by the synopsis that Moore will only be playing a supporting role to both Fanning and Olsen, which is something I’m completely fine with. Not to say that she’s a particularly bad actress by any stretch, but I’m much more interested in seeing a movie with the two younger actresses with more potential. The project will be produced by Norton Herrick‘s Herrick Entertainment and Michael London‘s Groundswell Productions, with shooting starting in New York in June.
What do you think of Moore joining the cast of Very Good Girls?
