It is untitled for now, but the sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later is to be directed by none other than Danny Boyle. Dread Central has exclusively learned that director of the original zombie film is “planning to return to direct” another sequel in the franchise. Boyle did some second-unit directing on Juan Carlos Fresnadillo‘s entertaining 28 Weeks Later, notably the excellent opening scene.
It seems odd Boyle would return to a genre flick after his Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire and (likely) Oscar-winning 127 Hours. He has expressed interest before, but I never actually thought it would be a possibility. We will keep you updated with further development on the project.
Fox Searchlight also recently debuted a full-length trailer for one of my favorite films of the year, 127 Hours. To go along with it, they also have released the first poster for the film, which you can check out below.
