Dan Akroyd recently spoke to the Los Angeles Times where he revealed some new details on the much talked about Ghostbusters 3. When asked if Ivan Reitman would return to helm he stated, “too busy as a mega-producer”. He also said that Harold Raimis, also apart of the crew, is who he wants to direct saying that, “He has a lot of things going on, but it would be wonderful to see him do it.” The original crew Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Davis are set to return along with Sigourney Weaver. Akroyd also mentioned production may start as early as this winter.
I’m actually happy that there’s going to be another Ghostbusters sequel, and it’s great that most of the old cast is returning. It’s also great to know that this may finally actually happen. I would also prefer it that Harold Ramis directs, not only because he’s a comedic genius, but because he has some investment in the series since he is one of the original stars.
