Earlier this month we reported David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen will be teaming up again for The Talking Cure, about psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and his complicated relationship with young pupil Carl Jung. Deadline reports after Cure wraps, that the two will work together on the much-rumored, but never confirmed sequel to Eastern Promises.

Few details are known, but original writer Steven Knight has penned the script. The film is expected to shoot this winter and it is already set up at Focus Features. I really enjoyed the first film and I’m not sure what they will do with a sequel but in the hands of Cronenberg, he must be trusted.
