As Christopher Nolan celebrates his 43rd birthday today, the director is still hard at work finalizing the cast for his sci-fi blockbuster Interstellar. Set to begin production momentarily, word has now come in from The Wrap of the latest two promising additions.
According to the trade, the Red Tails duo of David Oyelowo and David Gyasi have boarded the project in (obviously) undisclosed roles. While that George Lucas-produced effort didn’t quite capture our attention, they’ve been hard at work, with the former star taking part in Lincoln, Jack Reacher and Lee Daniels‘ upcoming Lee Daniels’ The Butler (you’re welcome, TWC), while the latter actor was last seen in Cloud Atlas and even had a brief part in The Dark Night Rises.
Scripted by Christopher Nolan and his brother, Jonathan, Interstellar uses ideas originated by physicist Kip Thorne to weave a “complex and multi-layered” story of “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding.” Outside these latest additions, the ensemble is filled out by Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Topher Grace, Bill Irwin, Wes Bentley Timothée Chalamet, and Mackenzie Foy.
Interstellar lands on November 7th, 2014, but you already new that.
