Although we’re getting more films in the Harry Potter universe, there’s no telling if David Yates, who concluded the series, will be back. However, we do know a few potential projects he has his eye on, all of which have yet to officially get off the ground. The helmer recently became attached to a Scarface remake not long after it was thought his Tarzan reboot went up in smoke, but now it looks like that latter project is back on, with some new cast members being eyed.
According to Variety, Alexander Skarsgard is still on board as the lead, but now instead of Samuel L. Jackson and Jessica Chastain in supporting roles, replacements are circling. Christoph Waltz, whose The Zero Theorem is awaiting U.S. distribution, is now in talks to play a villainous military figure that goes up against our apeman. They also note that Emma Stone could take the Jane Porter role, as Yates is meeting with the actress, as well as The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie. With a greenlight yet to arrive, if all comes together Warner Bros. could give it the go-ahead this November with production start next summer ahead of a likely 2015 release.
What do you think of this potential new Tarzan cast?
