We’ve found some new information about Marvel’s The First Avenger: Captain America, which will be directed by Joe Johnston (The Wolfman, Jurassic Park III) and written by Narnia scribes Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely. Fangoria released a preview to the article that will hit shelves about ‘The Wolfman’. Towards the end of the article he mentions ‘Captain America’:
“By the time I got on a plane and arrived, it was three,” recalls Johnston, speaking from theart department of THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, which he’s readying for a June start. “But at that point, what kind of difference can a week make?”
Well there ya go. It’s good to see a studio like Marvel to keep things running smoothly. They seem to have a full plate right now. While advertising for Iron Man 2 they are starting production of Thor in January, with Captain America to follow. I hope to see all of Marvel’s Avengers to get their own movie.
Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released July 22, 2011.
What do you think about the Captain America film? Who would you like to be seen cast?
