Cameron Crowe is hopefully making up for lost time. The director hasn’t made a film since 2005 when his film Elizabethtown bombed at both the box office and with critics. We already revealed that the director is planning a Marvin Gaye biopic with Terrence Howard but now /Film is reporting that Crowe is on board to direct an adaptation of the memoir We Bought A Zoo as well.
that several members of Crowe’s usual production team have signed on for the 20th Century Fox production of Benjamin Mee‘s real-life account of his family moving into a dilapidated zoo in England. The screenplay has been written by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) but Crowe is expected to do some additional rewrites on the project.
There is no word on who will star in the film but The Playlist speculates Ben Stiller and Matt Damon may be eyeing roles. It is expected to hit theaters in December of 2011.
