call-me-by-your-name

Ahead of their ceremony in 2018, the Film Independent Spirit Awards handed out this year’s batch of nominations with Luca Guadagnino’s quietly rapturous Call Me by Your Name earning six nominations. Close behind were Jordan Peele’s Get Out and the Safdies’ Good Time, which each got five nominations.

Also among the nominations were A Ghost Story (which deserved a few more), Lady Bird, The Florida Project, The Rider, Columbus, Beach Rats, Marjorie Prime, and more. Peculiarly, one of the year’s absolute best independent films, Stephen Cone’s Princess Cyd, was completely snubbed, as was Greta Gerwig for Best Director.

See the full list below, ahead of a ceremony on March 3, 2018.
