The team behind The Proposal (director Anne Fletcher, writer Pete Chiarelli, and producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman) are to reunite for a new action comedy entitled Most Wanted for Universal.

The story follows Bullock as a criminal suspect with Reynolds playing a FBI agent who is attempting to escort her to court when the two are attacked and forced to go on the run.

The film was initially pitched to Disney, via the Touchstone label, who originally released the $317 grossing romantic comedy The Proposal that also featured the two stars.  Wanting to focus more on their core brand and veer away from the Touchstone label, Disney passed.  After taking the project elsewhere, multiple offers were pitched until Universal won out over the weekend.

Most Wanted will also see Reynolds as executive producer along with his Dark Trick Films partner, Jonathon Komack-Martin.

Chiarelli, an ex-MGM executive that initial wrote the screenplay for The Proposal, will pen the script for the new action-comedy.
