Bryan Singer never seems to have big luck getting his next film off the ground. His latest is no exception. Heat Vision reports that his big-budget, effects-heavy Jack The Giant Killer has delayed its start date from this summer in England to February 2011.

They also report Singer has met with Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass, Nowhere Boy) and Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Red Riding) to “play the project’s young farmer Jack, the hero who must lead a dangerous expedition to the kingdom of giants in hope of rescuing a princess.”

Of course, these are just talks and no one has been cast. There was also rumors he is killing two birds with one stone and casting X-Men: First Class (which he is producing) at the same sessions as Jack The Giant Killer. Could we see Johnson and Garfield in X-Men? Possibly. It makes sense considering Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn will be taking on X-Men and possibly want want to re-team with his star of his recent hit.

The reason for the delay is because Singer is “planning on previz-ing the movie from start to finish, and will use a process that will allow him to see the giants in-camera as the actors play opposite them.”

Are you looking forward to Jack The Giant Killer? Who should get the lead part?
