Does this guy ever take a break? With seven films set to hit theaters just this year and a fifth Die Hard gearing up, Bruce Willis has just signed on yet another action thriller. Variety reports the actor will lead Five Against a Bullet, from Predators and The Three Musketeers scribe Alex Litvak.
Set up at Columbia Pictures with veteran action producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the film “follows a Mexican politician who, after the death of his father at the hands of a drug cartel, hires the five best bodyguards from around the world to protect him through a contentious election.” Considering his lack of Mexican features, I’d have to assume that Willis will be one of the bodyguards, which means this could turn into another Expendables-esque romp if four other big action stars join him as protections.
Producers hope to kick off production soon, presumably after Willis wraps A Good Day to Die Hard. Aside from the generic action flicks he has coming up, I personally can’t wait to see Willis in Wes Anderson‘s Moonrise Kingdom and Rian Johnson’s Looper, two of my most-anticipated films of the year. As for Bullet, I can’t in good faith trust a script from the guy behind the last Paul W.S. Anderson film, but hopefully they get some stronger talent on board in the directing arena.
What do you think about Willis starring in another action film?
