Although Cooper announced his role a couple days ago, it has been confirmed that Bradley Cooper (The Hangover; pictured right) will be starring as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck in a movie remake of the classic 1980’s television show The A-Team. His character would be a smooth talking equipment manager under commands of the team leader Col. John “Hannibal” Smith who is set to be played by actor Liam Neeson (Taken).
The story would follow a group of four Iraq war veterans trying to clear their names after being framed for commiting a crime against the U.S. Military. Variety reports that the film will be less campy with a feeling similar to that of Mission: Impossible and Ocean’s Eleven.
Previous interviews have shown that actors such as Ice Cube and Common are up to playing the role of B.A. Baracus, formerly played by Mr. T with his famous mohawk. Also to be casted yet is the teams pilot, Captain H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock. Fox has the film slated for release on July 11, 2010 meaning production would start as soon as possible, probably around August. It will be directed by Joe Carnahan.
