With nearly every cancelled TV series that has a fervent fanbase, no matter how small it may be, there seems to be long-winded talks of the show getting feature film treatment. We saw this come true with Joss Whedon‘s Serenity and while talk of an actual movie has subsided in favor of more seasons, the Arrested Development team is currently hard at work for their return. Then there’s that Party Down movie that will probably never happen and today we’ve got another one to add to the pile.

After getting an unfortunate cancellation last year, Jonathan Ames‘ HBO series Bored to Death may find new life with a feature film. While at the Monte Carlo Television Festival yesterday, star of the show Ten Danson told the crowd that “there was a good chance of a 90-minute movie happening.” We’ve seen stars say such things before, without actually knowing what’s happening, so Vulture followed up with HBO to confirm that “there have “been some conversations” about a feature film, but “it’s at a very early stage.”

I’d love to see the series return and considering the comedic star power of Zach Galifianakis, who co-stars along lead Jason Schwartzman, that could push this into a possible reality. For those that haven’t seen the show, which featured many guest stars including Kristin Wiig, Jim Jarmusch, Patton Oswalt, Isla Fisher and Olivia Thirlby, it follows a writer-turned-private detective and you can see a clip below.
