The Broadcast Film Critics Association held the annual Critics’ Choice Awards last night with David Fincher‘s The Social Network taking home the expected top prize. Outside of True Grit‘s Hailee Steinfeld finally getting some recognition for her fantastic performance, the big surprise was Inception. Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster took home the most awards, mostly in technical categories. It will be interesting to see if this transfers to the Oscars.
While Black Swan grabbed the most nominations, it only got one win with Natalie Portman picking up Best Actress. A personal favorite that will likely get ignored by the Academy, is Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross‘ excellent score for The Social Network. I have to question their pick for Best Foreign Language Film going to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Did none of them see A Prophet, Fish Tank, or The Secret In Their Eyes? What do you think of the awards? Check out the list below via RopeofSilicon.
