After a pair of supporting roles in 2011’s War Horse and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, 2013 marks the true unveiling of Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch to American audiences. Not only is the actor playing the main villain in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek Into Darkness, but Paramount seems to be basing the bulk of their marketing campaign around his character, the mysterious John Harrison.
On President’s Day, they’ve now given us a variation on their theatrical one-sheet, putting it in motion and having a voice-over from our Cumberbatch. Check it out below, along with a a batch of previous stills now updated to high-resolution, for the film also starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller.
Star Trek Into Darkness arrives on May 17th.
