Last year it was announced that filmmakers were working on 3D-ifying the original mastered versions of the 1991 animated film The Beauty and the Beast. Yesterday (on StitchKingdom.com via Collider.com) it was reported that the film’s release was going to be delayed over a year. It was slated for release on Valentine’s Day 2010. A new release date has yet to be announced.
I have no real attachment to this film, but it’s a classic Disney film that I feel I should revisit since I’ve had an unchecked disliking for it ever since I was made to watch it as a 5-year-old in theaters.
What are your thoughts on this new 3D Beauty and the Beast? And do you care about the delay?
