Barry Pepper, whose most recent high-profile role was in Seven Pounds, is the newest cast member to the Coen Brothers’ upcoming True Grit remake. Pepper joins a cast including Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Jeff Bridges to play the role of “Lucky” Ned Pepper, the notorious outlaw played by Robert Duvall in the 1969 original.
Finding himself in the company of Hollywood’s elite, Pepper’s career has been relatively low-key given promising early roles in Enemy of the State and The Green Mile, but he reminded everyone just what he is capable of with an affecting performance in Tommy Lee Jones’ The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.
What do you think of the addition of Barry Pepper to the cast?
