According to a THR report: “‘Arrested Development’ creator Mitchell Hurwitz and his co-executive producer James Vallely are working on a screenplay for the long-debated feature version of their short-lived Fox series…for possible feature production in the spring.” Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s production studio, Imagine Entertainment, will produce the film. Hurwitz will direct.
After years of speculation and ups and downs and Michael Cera saying no and Michael Cera saying yes (and Jeffrey Tambor saying everything) this update feels like something of some substance.
“Arrested Development” stands as one of the funniest (if not the funniest) television shows of all time, so a feature film is more than welcome in the eyes of this writer. Hopefully development does not continue to be arrested (chuckle, chuckle).
