Now that it seems increasingly less likely that Annette Bening will take home the Oscar this year we can begin to look forward to her upcoming projects and await the deafening buzz they generate. The first project we can expect from the 4 time Oscar nominee will apparently be a film opposite Morgan Freeman for writer/director Rob Reiner (Misery, The Bucket List). Reiner recently revealed the details of his next film at an AARP dinner in his honor and said that the two stars will headline the feature. He did not reveal too much information about the project but we do know that it will be called The Third Act and that it has yet to start filming.

Reiner has worked with both actors before (Bening in The American President and Freeman in The Bucket List) so it should be interesting to see what kind of performances he gets out of these two actors. Also, if Bening is on the hunt for nomination #5, it doesn’t hurt that Reiner has previously directed the Oscar winning performance of Kathy Bates in Misery.

What do you think of the pairing of Freeman and Bening? Do you still enjoy Reiner’s work or has he lost his touch?
