Director Amy Heckerling (Fast Times At Ridgemont High) will be teaming up with her Clueless star Alicia Silverstone for the vampire rom-com Vamps. [Screen Daily]
Silverstone and TV star Krysten Ritter will play two young vampires living in NYC whose lives become complicated by mortal romance. This is Heckerling’s first feature since the ill-fated direct-to-video Michelle Pfeiffer/Paul Rudd dramedy I Could Never Be Your Woman, which was held up in legal limbo following the bankruptcy of the Baur Martinez production company. Heckerling is a fantastic comedic writer/director and has produced great results with Silverstone before so this should be one to look out for once filming begins in April.
