A few days ago, we found out that Reese Witherspoon was in talks to join P.T. Anderson’s Scientology-inspired next film as protagonist Philip Seymour Hoffman’s wife. Now it seems a daughter is needed, and three young, up-and-coming actresses are in the running: Emma Stone (the upcoming Easy A), Amanda Seyfried (most recently Dear John and Letters to Juliet) and True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll. The most interesting thing about this news is that none of these actresses look much like Reese Witherspoon. and Ms. Witherspoon isn’t much older than any of them either. But, hey movie magic right?
And though the role of the daughter is allegedly small, there’s enough meat to chew out a worthwhile performance, which all of these young performers could use.
