Deadline is reporting Alice Eve is in negotiations to join the ever growing cast of X-Men: First Class. Eve will take the role of Emma Frost. Rosamund Pike (An Education, Surrogates) was originally up for the role. Alice Eve is best known for her role in She’s Out Of My League as Molly. She is just another actress to join the always growing cast of X-Men: First Class. Eve was also rumored at one point for Captain America but that role went to Hayley Atwell.
James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Benjamin Walker have all already been cast in the film and with Vaughn set to direct, the film seems to be shaping up pretty nicely. This superhero flick is going to showcase our favorite mutants in their youth. The film will look at the formative years of Xavier and Magneto, and the forming of the mutant school as well as where their relationship took a wrong turn.
While I didn’t love the third X-Men, X1 and X2 were great films and I do have high hopes for this one. The cast is shaping up nicely and I can’t wait to see the final cast list.
The film will be released summer 2011.
