Considering he’s leading the biggest film of the year, as well as having worked with Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, Jeff Nichols, and Noah Baumbach, one would think there would have been some awareness when it comes to Adam Driver‘s next role. However, gliding under the radar, the project already wrapped and has instantly become one of our most-anticipated of 2016.
Jim Jarmusch‘s Paterson, which was shot in the titular New Jersey town, follows a bus driver and poet, but not many details are known beyond that. “I don’t know if it’s any more of a comedy than any other film I’ve made, but it definitely has some funny stuff in it,” the director said last year. Empire Magazine (via The Playlist) now reveal that Driver is starring in the film, which wrapped its five-week shoot just a few weeks ago on November 13th.
We can’t think of a better match for the specific world of Jarmusch than Driver, so hopefully more details are revealed in the coming months, notably if this is the film that falls under the director’s deal with Amazon. Speaking of Driver, below one can check out his conversation with Howard Stern from earlier today as they discuss Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Paterson (which he says is “weird and good”), his career, and more.
