THR is reporting that Adam Brody (The Ten, In The Land of Women) and Sean William Scott (Role Models, Southland Tales) are joining Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan in Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks. The film, written by Robb and Marc Cullen, is an R-rated buddy cop comedy in which two veteran LAPD detectives are on a mission to track down a stolen, mint-condition, 1952 baseball card, and in the process, get tangled with a sports memorabilia-obsessed gangster and rescue a Mexican beauty who might hold the key to millions in laundered drug money. Scott plays a thief known as “the Shit Bandit,” as he is notorious for leaving a surprise trademark behind in the bathroom after robbing a house. Brody plays an “abrasive detective” who is not happy to be working with Willis and Morgan.
I’m very interested to see what Smith can do with something not written by him. I don’t think he is a great director in the visual sense so I’m wondering what he can bring to the film. I loved Sean William Scott in last year’s Role Models and have mixed feeling about Adam Brody. The pairing of Willis and Morgan seems perfect though. I’m looking forward to this, as the script is supposed to be excellent.
A Couple of Dicks is scheduled to hit theaters on February 26th 2010.
