After a shoddy teaser trailer, the first theatrical trailer for Marcus Nispel‘s Conan the Barbarian has arrived The music video director has previously entered feature film territory with remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th Getting away from horror and jumping into action/adventure territory, he directs Jason Momoa in this upcoming blockbuster. The film also stars Stephen Lang, Said Taghmaoui, Rachel Nichols and Leo Howard.

This trailer is definitely an improvement, considering it is the first actual footage we’ve seen. I’m getting pretty tired of this sword-and-sandal blockbusters after Clash of the Titans, Centurion, and The Eagle. I’ll gladly take Immortals over what we have here. See it for yourself below via Yahoo and let us know what you think.

Synopsis: A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Conan the Barbarian 3D hits theaters August 19th, 2011.
